Electronic Media Master
Program Overview
The Master programme in Electronic Media consists of the four branches Media Technology, Media Design, Media Management and Communications. Students will select one out of these four majors before starting their studies at Stuttgart Media University and will dedicate about 50 percent of their courses in their major field. The other 50 percent can be chosen in further specialization or interdisciplinary courses, productions or projects. All fields of media are professionally equipped with state-of-the-art technology; our facilities and studios for sound recording, television and film, computer animation and interactive media are amongst the best and most complete in educational institutions in Europe. Students will receive lectures, insights and instruction from highly qualified, experienced and motivated professors and staff.Media Technology
Students who major in Media Technology learn how to define technical requirements and data in the field of electronic media. They are not only able to evaluate conceptual design and practicability of media productions regarding creative quality and technical producibility but also to optimize production flows. Graduates are in the position to understand problems in the field of media technology, locate challenging solutions and realize them.Media Design
The major Media Design puts great emphasis on a profound education in all fields of media. In the age of digital media the cross media combination of visual, auditory and textual components is key for the creation of esthetical media offerings. Media Design is based on media theory, the creative paradigms of the respective media and practical work. Students receive fundamental knowledge of every single media discipline so they are finally able to work in a converging digital work successfully.Media Management
The major Media Management focuses on economic and managerial aspects. On the one hand the economic dimension is enriched with global-, macro- and micro-economic issues, the major challenge of media management is dealing with the interface between design, creative execution and communication on the other hand. Students who major in Media Management are able to apply their acquired interdisciplinary professional competence and leadership skills in their future professional career.Corporate Communication
The major Corporate Communication combines social and communication science with journalistic aspects for mastering internal and external communication. Graduates are able to transfer their professional competence onto communicative and journalistic requirements and issues in the field of corporate communications – in every single media as well as cross-media.Course Director:
