German National Academic Foundation is Germany’s largest and most prestigious organisation sponsoring the academically gifted.

Requirements

  • Citizenship of an European member state (only when they spend most of their time studying in Germany and complete their studies in Germany.)
  • Other foreign students may need the necessary qualifications for admission to German higher education and a permanent residence permit in Germany for several years.

The Cusanuswerk is the scholarship body of the Catholic Church in Germany.

Requirements

  • Citizenship of an European member state
  • or the status as a resident students with foreign citizenship as stated in BAföG §8

Evangelisches Studienwerk e.V. is a scholarship organization for gifted students funded by the Protestant church of Germany.

Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung e.V. supports students and academics with outstanding qualifications from Germany and abroad for whom an academic education is not only a first step in their professional career but expresses their commitment to democracy, the State and society.

Requirements

  •  you don’t already receive support from public funds
  • excellent German language skills

Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung is the foundation for liberal politics in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Requirements

  • an acceptance from a German university to a postgraduate course
  • and the ability to communicate fluently in German, both orally and in written format

 6-KonradAdenauerStiftung

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. promotes German and foreign students and graduates as well as young journalists and artists.

Requirements

  • a first university degree (at least 4 years of studies)
  • excellent German language skills at the level of the certificate “Deutsch” (f.e. at Goethe institute)
  • the willingness to get back to the homecountry after final degree in Germany

Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung e.V. wants to support junior academics with the right personal and academic qualifications who are willing to cooperate constructively and with dedication in forming our liberal state under the rule of law.

Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung supports undergraduates, graduates, and PhD students in all subjects who embrace the Green cause, share the fundamental values of the Heinrich Böll Foundation, can demonstrate an excellent academic record, and are socially and politically active.

  • No special citizenship but especially young people from East Europe and of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) get support

 10-RosaLuxemburg

Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung awards scholarships to German and foreign students (under graduate and doctorate) who study in Germany and provides them social, financial and cultural support services.

Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk (ELES – Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Scholarship Programme) is the twelfth scholarship programme for students and doctoral candidates supported by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF).
